Chobial is a film camera for iPhone that always shoots RAW. See your film live in the viewfinder, make films of your own with real film controls — grain, halation, curves — and develop any photo again with any film, any time. Shooting and developing are free; you pay only to export.
Long
Apple's film looks stop at HEIF — Photographic Styles aren't available when you shoot RAW. Chobial starts there. Every frame is captured as a RAW negative (Apple ProRAW on Pro iPhones, sensor RAW on the rest), and the film is applied live in the viewfinder, so you compose in the look instead of hoping for it.
Because nothing is baked in, any photo can be developed again with any film — including films made long after it was taken. Chobial ships with fifteen films, eleven colour and four black & white, and a film editor with the controls film actually has: tone and highlight rolloff, curves, an 8-band colour mixer, split toning, grain modelled on real stocks with shadow bias, halation and bloom — or any .cube LUT as a starting point.
Films can be shared as a small QR code that scans off a screen or a screenshot, or as a file. The editor adds automatic masks for subject, sky, background and people. There are full manual controls, a histogram and zebras, Camera Control and Lock Screen capture, Siri, an Apple Watch shutter, and iCloud sync for films and settings. No account, no tracking.
